JCI Santa Clarita Celebrates 21st Annual Awards and Installs 2019 Board

It was a night of Old Hollywood Glitz and Glamour as JCI Santa Clarita “The Jaycees” celebrated their 21st Annual Awards and Installation Gala in style! The event celebrated a successful 2018, particularly for the Jaycees signature projects, 40 Under Forty and Santa’s Helpers Toy Drive.

State Senator Scott Wilk joined the Jaycees to help install the new 2019 board and swear in the 2019 President Taylor Kellstrom. Jaycee members enjoyed a magical Old a Hollywood themed meal and decor, a speech by Senator Will reflecting on his leadership lessons, followed by dancing. New members of JCI Santa Clarita were also sworn in, welcoming them to the organisation.

The event was co-chaired by new members T.J Ward and Chelsea with the event MC by former a National Vice President of the US Jaycees, Debbie Holbrook Apker. California Jaycee President Jessper Maquindang joined Debbie in presenting a JCI Senatorship, conferring life time membership onto Neil Fitzgerald, a current International Officer for JCI America’s and former US National Officer.

JCI Santa Clarita would like to thank Senator Scott Wilk for his speech and support of the chapter and to thank Field Representative Michelle Kampbell from Christy Smiths office for helping to present the below awards with Senator Wilk.

  • Board Member of The Year: Sharlene Duzick
  • Brenda Mehling Memorial Award: Taylor Kellstrom
  • Brian Convis Memorial Award: Daniela Echaiz
  • Community partner of the year: The Paseo Club

Commenting, 2019 President Taylor Kellstrom said “I’m thrilled to kick off what will be great 2019 for the Jaycees as we celebrate our 21 birthday. I’m honored to have been installed as President and I can’t wait to see what all our members will accomplish. I am grateful to Senator Wilk, Michelle Kampbell, Debbie Holbrook Apker, Jessper and our Co Chairs T.J Ward and Chelsea Ozchowski for putting on a great event. I’m also excited to welcome many new members to our group.”
